Shit I’m not creative enough to make up or a series of unrelated events or every time someone tries to tell me it’s not about race.

#poverty creates robbery #nothing forces rapists to rape

it’s truly sad too many ppl don’t get this. absolutely nothing forces anyone to r*pe. poverty and the need to survive creates a need to steal, which has existed well before antiblackness, might i add. this whole poem was great so i’m reblogging again lol, thanks for adding my tags.

s/o to the black man.

#black father supremacy

everyone needs to know this.

It’s important to realize that many of the biases that we have and that are reinforced by people in positions of power are baseless.

For my dad!

Well now!

infamouspielie asked: What exactly is feminism to you, equality for women, or dominance over men?

It’s about being anti oppression

i like how feminism is only thought of in that one extreme. YOU THINK YOU’RE BETTER THAN MEN, YOU WANT TO DOMINATE AND CONTROL MEN. it’s as if men know exactly what their privilege is over women in this world and the very idea of women’s liberation is 50% of the population rising to real power and doing the same shit they did to us for centuries. can’t have that!

They can’t even begin to imagine anything beyond domination. They pretend like everything is totally “equal” , but then show that they can only see a world were one group oppresses another and they just scared that the tables will turn. all  while ignoring the fact that we’re not talking about that at all and that would be the opposite of any sort of legitimate feminism. It’s not about having power over men, it’s about fighting patriarchal oppression so that women ( and all people) will be treated as human ( not as other, as objects, as victims, as tools, etc.). It’s about making a world were power is not maintained through the threat of violence . that violence is seen as normal so that a large portion of the world’s population has it’s human rights violated on the daily. but you know, whatever.

Now think of how many of those female characters and protagonists are oversexed, created for the male gaze, or put in an inactive damsel role for the plot of the game. Representation matters. A Study last year proved that exposure to tv shows increased the self esteem of young white boys and markedly decreased the confidence and self esteem of girls across the board (and we haven’t even started on the representation of characters of color and the effect it has on children’s self perception).

Video games are a different media, and even more concerning if representation metrics are changing how our kids think of themselves. Especially knowing that 67% of American Households have video game consoles and 91% of Children play video games regularlyhow do you think the portrayal (and lack of portrayals) of women and girls in these games is affecting little girls – or influencing how little boys view their importance and/or influence over them?

Comics. Movies. Lit. Pop Culture. The Smash Survey is an upcoming podcast project that will critically explore the representation of race, gender, and queer identity in media and pop culture in a fun and engaging format.

The Daily Show tries to help white people understand what it’s like to be stopped and frisked.

haha how about a tv show where lesbian and bisexual women aren’t sexualized or seen as confused, attention seeking or going through a phase but instead as actual people with real lives and stories other than their sexuality that’d be great thanks
